UK NARIC is attending the 1st ASEM expert working group on interregional credit transfer mechanisms and learning outcomes systems, meeting in Beijing, China, 24-25 March 2016.
The working group was established following the 5th Asia-Europe meeting of the ministers for education (ASEME5) in April 2015. The working group is tasked to develop further criteria for interregional recognition of credits and learning outcomes. The working group comprises nominated experts from Belgium (Fl.), Brunei, China, Germany, Estonia, Indonesia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Thailand and the UK.
UK NARIC CEO, Dr Cloud Bai-Yun, is invited to contribute to discussions as a member of the group.
Observers including the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and the ASEM education Secretariat also participate in the working group meeting.

The meeting decided that the second meeting of the Expert Working Group would be held in 2017 in Belgium.
